Vin Diesel and Paul Walker won’t be the only series stars returning for Fast Five, the fifth installment in Universal’s The Fast & the Furious franchise.

“I’m back!! Roman is back!!,” Tyrese Gibson declared this afternoon via Twitter. Gibson co-starred in the 2003 sequel 2 Fast 2 Furious when Diesel declined to return, but then didn’t reprise his role as Roman Pearce in the subsequent sequels The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift and Fast & Furious.

Roman was an ex-con and childhood friend of Walker’s protagonist ,Brian O’Conner.

Dwayne Johnson has been rumored to be playing the lawman chasing Diesel and Walker this time around. Justin Lin, who helmed the last two Fast films, will once again direct.

• Tyrese saddened by Megan Fox’s departure

The “Transformers”-loving world was shocked last week when it was revealed that star Megan Fox would not be returning for the upcoming third movie in the franchise, which starts shooting this week. Although her character was central to the plot of the first two movies, a publicly contentious professional relationship between Fox and director Michael Bay reportedly led to the split.

“Transformers” co-star Tyrese Gibson said he was disappointed when he heard the news of Fox’s departure.

“I was sad about it, man. Genuinely,” he told MTV News on the red carpet for the E! 20th anniversary celebration Monday night. “We built something here. We all did. We all put our own sauce and stamp and energy on this franchise.”

• ‘Legion’ now on DVD and Blu-Ray

Hitting stores everywhere today, Screen Gems’ Legion will be taking the Earth by storm in the form of DVD and Blu-Ray. Originally in theaters back in January, the action-thriller brought about the apocalypse with a cool “God purging the world of it’s disease” storyline, some cool zombie/demonic baddies, and an epic showdown between angels Michael (Paul Bettany) and Gabriel (LOST’s Kevin Durand).

Directed by visual effects artist Scott Stewart, the film fills out its cast with some great talent like Dennis Quaid, Private Practice’s Kate Walsh, Tyrese Gibson, Adrianne Palicki, and American Gothic’s Lucas Black. As part of the Blu-Ray release, we’ve got some great clips from the disc’s features to show you.

Dennis Quaid delves into the troubles of his character, Bob, Paul Bettany talks about doing (just about) all of his own stunts, and we see exactly how the production crew got the 60+ year old Jeannette Miller to hang from a ceiling.

Check out the clips after the jump, and pick up Legion on Blu-Ray or DVD today.

• “Transformers 3″ starts production May 10 and filming July 4

Starting July 4 and filming for seven weeks, director Michael Bay’s “Transformers 3” will shoot in Chicago, which along with Moscow, will be “the focus of the big action sequences,” according to Bay’s official website.

Chicago Film Office director Rich Moskal calls the upcoming big-budget shoot “a blockbuster in every sense of the word; in terms of economic impact, stunts and special effects.”

In a sit-down with the producers last winter, Mayor Daley was agreeable to their city location requests “as he saw the multiple value in this big movie shooting here,” says Moskal. They will shoot along Michigan Avenue and throughout the Loop.

Starting May 10 “T3” will work out of Chicago Film Studios Chicago (the Ryerson steel plant), occupying 300,000 sq. ft. for offices, stages, construction, wardrobe, transportation, etc., according to studio manager Alex Pisseos.

Scheduled for a July 1, 2011 release, “T3” is expected to provide the greatest amount of local union employment since “Public Enemies” filmed here in 2008.

While the plot is being tightly held under wraps, Michael Bay did say in a Blu-ray extra that “T3” can’t get any bigger, so it will have to go “sideways,” in terms of overall scope and action.

He also revealed that the new Autobot being introduced will be a Ferrari 458 Italia.

“T3” will shoot in six other world cities in the continuing saga of the admirable Autobots and dastardly Decepticons, who disguise themselves by transforming into everyday machinery.

Cast members are Shia Labeouf as Sam Witwicky, Megan Fox as his girlfriend, Mikaela, John Malkovich as Sam’s boss, Kevin Dunn, Julie White, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Frances McDormand, and Ken Jeong.
